We're a local group of friendly poets. We enjoy giving and receiving constructive criticism at our regular workshops, reading to the group and giving in-depth presentations on chosen topics at our meetings. There's a wide range of styles, approaches and subject matter, anything from political and humanitarian concerns to the beauty of nature and personal experiences of life.
We also read at other venues and at open mic events in Surrey, Hampshire and London.
We regularly publish anthologies of our poetry. Ripples (2016) and Pathways (2019) sold well, and the latest, Roots, is due out this year.
The Guildford Society has been an active voice, speaking up for the town and its surrounding countryside and villages, since 1896. As a Civic Society, we act as a focus for all who care about Guildford’s heritage and environment. While mindful of the past, we look firmly to the future.
The University of Surrey is a global community of ideas and people, dedicated to life-changing education and research. With a beautiful and vibrant campus, we provide exceptional teaching and practical learning to inspire and empower our students for personal and professional success.
