We are looking forward to returning to Farnham Maltings to perform this exciting programme with orchestra and soloists.
Following a very successful workshop on 15 January where we explored the Mozart Mass in depth we were thrilled to welcome new members who have joined us to sing this piece - and perhaps stay on to sing the Bach and Elgar in the summer as well!
In addition to the four inspiring young vocal soloists who will sing the Mozart with us we are joined by trumpeter Nick Budd to perform the Haydn Trumpet Concerto. All five soloists are completing their professional studies in music and you will not be disappointed hearing them! We are also looking forward to renewing our acquaintance with the Chameleon Arts Orchestra, with whom we performed at our Autumn Concert in Alton.
The concert opens with the piece by Haydn that describes the "Frantic and Futile Anxieties" that plague our lives - a song for our times, perhaps? (But it has a happy ending...)
Tickets £15 - £20 - We hope to see you there!
The Waverley Singers is a long-established, friendly and enterprising choir of around 100 singers, based in Farnham, Surrey. Our musical director is Richard Pearce.
We perform four or more concerts a year with professional soloists and instrumentalists, in venues which include St. Andrew's church, Farnham, St Lawrence's church, Alton, Farnham Maltings, St Andrew's Garrison church, Aldershot, and Guildford Cathedral.
