Guildford Opera are performing Bizet’s opera The Pearl Fishers, in English, at Guildford’s Holy Trinity Church on Wed 18 June and Friday 20th June at 7pm and Sat 21 June at 6pm. With evocative lighting and accompanied by a chamber orchestra, the church is transformed into a fishing village in Bahrain where the tragic love story between the priestess Leila and two friends Nadir and Zorga unfolds.
Guildford Opera has been performing opera and operetta for over 40years, at venues in Guildford, most recently at the Electric Theatre. Working with experienced music and stage directors, we seek to achieve a high musical and dramatic standards. We attract many young soloists who go on to have successful careers in both UK and international opera houses.

The company is run by its members, who are responsible for all aspects of performance both on and off stage. If you think you would prefer to help behind the scenes, as backstage crew, set building and painting, costumes, props, publicity etc – then you will be equally welcome.
