In 1960, John began working in photography professionally; then mainly Black and White. Three years later he moved into Television; also Black and White in those days! Over 40 years followed as TV camera operator and then TV Director. Throughout this time he maintained his passion for creating photographic images. Since retiring from TV John has had considerable success with exhibiting and selling his work, believing that photography is just another way of creating pictures. John prints all his own work with a large format digital printer onto fine art archival paper and inks. Usually he cuts his own double mounts and frames his prints with AR UV70 art glass for minimal reflection and clarity of the image. 'Images From Landscape' ".... it begins with the light and endeavouring to create that first impression, then looking further and discovering how that moment plays on the imagination." J.D.
