I am a glass maker specialising in casting, skills I learnt during BA & MA courses at UCA in Farnham. I use textures from the environment to create sculptural work informed by nature and the layers beneath our feet.
"Material Remains V". Multi-cast glass layers with copper thread embroidered glass, sandblasted elements & bubble manipulation in layers. Surface texture cast from a medieval hearth at Woking Palace excavations with an archaeomagnetic date of 1400-1435AD.
"Alliums". Thick cast glass relief panel with textures from alliums. Cold worked, polished and slumped.
"Agapanthus". Thick cast glass relief panel with textures from agapanthus. Cold worked, polished and slumped.
"Polzeath". Thick cast glass relief panel with textures from Cornish beach combing. Cold worked, polished and mounted on slate.
