Bronte Day
PATS Studio One, University of Surrey, Stag Hill Campus, GU2 7XH
Saturday 30th May, 9.45am-1pm
Join us for a celebration of the magnificent Brontë sisters!
The University of Surrey’s School of Arts, Humanities & Creative Industries are hosting a special event to mark the world premiere of a new stage adaptation for GSA of Charlotte Brontë’s moody Gothic masterpiece Villette.
A morning of free events kicks off with a workshop demonstration by members of the cast and the writers of the adaptation on adapting Brontë for the stage.
Afterwards there will be talks, including on Charlotte Brontë’s Belgian connection, and on adapting the sisters’ novels for stage and screen, to coincide with the 2026 release of Wuthering Heights starring Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi.
Make a Brontë day of it with the 2pm matinee of GSA’s brand new version of Villette. Tickets must be purchased separately here.
All events for Brontë day, including the matinee performance of Villette, will take place on central campus in the PATS Theatre building.
