Gift Aid

If you pay tax and sign a Gift Aid Declaration then Guildford Arts can reclaim an extra 25p for every pound given as a donation or paid as a subscription.

Paying tax refers to tax actually paid ie for amounts above the tax-free allowances including:

• income tax whether collected by employer or pension fund or paid separately by yourself,
• tax on interest,
• tax on dividends from shares and unit trusts, and
• capital gains tax.

If you pay tax at the higher rate you can also claim your own tax reduction by declaring the gifts on your tax return.

You can make a declaration once, and then it applies for all gifts in any of the past four years and into the future, you do not need to make a new declaration for each future gift or payment, but you do need to tell us if you cease to pay tax.

Declaration by email

You can make your declaration by email by copying the following (with your details added) into an email and sending it to ga-treasurer@guildfordarts.com Please put "Guildford Arts Declaration" in the subject line.

The sum that I am transferring to Guildford Arts is intended first to reimburse the Society for any benefits in kind that I receive that are above the limits permitted under Gift Aid; and after doing that the remainder is intended as a qualifying gift under Gift Aid.

Please treat in this manner, until I notify you otherwise, all transfers of money made in

– and in the future.

I understand that the Society will reclaim tax (currently 25p)  for every £1 that I pay.

I am a UK taxpayer and understand that if I pay less Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax than the amount of Gift Aid claimed on all my donations in that tax year it is my responsibility to pay any difference (I understand that HMRC may make checks)
