Pirbright Rocks!

It's been a quiet August for Pirbright Arts, but we are back with a bang!

On September 25th we celebrate Rock & Roll with a day of contrasting events entitled...

Pirbright Rocks!

10.30am. Steve White

Former drummer for Style Council, Paul Weller, The Who, Oasis and many more, gives a drum clinic/workshop. You do NOT need to be a drummer to appreciate Steve's brilliance, and he will demonstrate his skills in the session. There will also be the opportunity to take part and ask questions of one of Britain's greatest ever drummers.

1pm. Richard Strange - "An Accent Waiting to Happen"

A collection of songs, stories, reading, film clips and downright scurrilous gossip, from a man who has been a major cultural influence in Britain since 1975. A man who, uniquely, has worked as a musician, performance artist, composer, writer, actor, curator and educator.Richard will share his thoughts andexperiences of working with Tom Waits, Frank Zappa, The Sex Pistols, The Damned, Marianne Faithfull, Jack Nicholson, Harmony Korine, William Burroughs, Gavin Bryars, Anita Pallenberg, Grace Jones, Tim Burton, Robert Wilson, Damon Albarn and Jarvis Cocker, among others.

7.30pm. Pirbright's Rock & Roll Party.

We round the day off with a fun night of all that is great about rock and pop with a band of fabulous session musicians playing classics from across the decades. Dance, sing, play air guitar, just have fun.

The ticket includes a voucher for food and there's a pay bar.

Tickets can be bought for each event or you can save money by buying a day ticket that covers all three.
